After attaining her Master's Degree in Mathematics (Eberhard-Karls-University, Tuebingen - Germany and Scuola Normale Superiore, Pisa - Italy), she completed her Master of Science in Corporate Finance at the renowned SDA Bocconi, in Milan - Italy. Prior to joining ETHENEA Independent Investors S.A., Dorothee Rainis worked as a Special Situations Analyst for VDM Capital and Investment Associate for Oryx Capital Advisors, in Lugano - Switzerland.
Title: New frontiers in monetary policies
We have heard many times that recent developments in monetary policy regimes give rise to a new environment, but in the investment world, the environment is changing constantly and hence is new every day. Nonetheless, actions of central banks around the globe are unprecedented, and it is yet to be seen what consequences different economies will bear in a regime that is characterized by an abundance of liquidity.
As questions start arising how asset managers can still extract positive returns in light of rising yields and subdued economic growth, we will examine where we believe occasions still exist, and we will further explain our investment process that we think allows investors to obtain reasonable results without being exposed to unreasonable volatility even as frontiers in monetary policies are pushed to new levels.
